NM Children's Fair

 

Join us for a great family weekend at the Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum on Saturday and Sunday, May 5-6.

 

From 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. both days, help raise money for the UNM Children's Hospital and the Children's Miracle Network by letting your children draw on a giant mural that will be put up in the Hospital and finished by the children who are patients there. Lobo athletes, including members of the Lobos football team, will be helping children help other children at the mural.

 

Bring a can for the RoadRunner Food Bank donation bins that will be in front of the Museum;

 

Enjoy non-stop entertainment on stage with children from the area performing. (If you've got a performing group, email us and we'll get you on stage!)

Here's what else will be going on:

• Monster Truck - Pit Bull - will be there giving rides for $5 each, as part of our fundraiser for UNM Children's Hospital and the Children's Miracle Network;

• Old Town Gunslingers - with a shoot-em up show;

• The Storm Troopers;

• Bernalillo County Fire Department will be there with a their trucks and a trailer that simulates escaping from a smoke-filled building;

• McGruff will be on hand to give out stickers, posters and teach about community safety;

• Raise money for the Balloon Museum by running inside a real hot-air balloon;

• Make a hoop or take your turn pitching with the Isotopes and Thunderbird's mascots;

• Fingerprinting and Child Find - to identify your child;

• Internet safety demonstrations and a pet adoption;

• Climb a rock wall, pet animals in our petting zoo and watch wildlife rescue demonstrations;

• Meet Sid and Eeo, an Eurasian Eagle Owl, from Avian Ambassadors

• See a demonstration of Assistance Dogs of the West and find out how they're trained;

• Watch a bomb robot, look inside the SWAT van, motorcycles, police horses and cars;

• Experiments and crafts, storytelling, balloon magic, and face painting;

• Information on fun summer activities for the whole family;

 

Get on your game face with tug-a-war, hula hooping contests, obstacle courses, track events, strong man events including a tire throw & flip, all powered by Defined Fitness;

 

See paragliders, hang gliders, remote-controlled planes and balloons;

 

Jumpers, clowns, plus a whole Museum to explore - plus food galore!
